PSE&G is prepared for strong winds and heavy snow that may hit our service area tonight through tomorrow and possibly cause damage. Depending on how the storm tracks, snow accumulations could be significant in parts of New Jersey. The forecast also predicts prolonged winds with the possibility of strong gusts – conditions that could break tree limbs, pull down wires and cause outages.

We continue to monitor the weather, and we have personnel on hand who are ready to respond to outages if they occur. PSE&G prepares year-round for extreme weather to maintain reliable service for our customers.

While forecasts vary, some models predict severe damage and we encourage customers to be prepared and stay informed. Here’s what you should know:

• Learn how to be safe during a storm event. Review our storm preparation tips.
• Stay away from downed wires; they should always be considered live. Stay at least 30 feet away from downed lines, and don’t go near the pole or anything touching the line. Immediately call PSE&G at 1-800-436-PSEG (7734) to report downed wires and dial 911 if an immediate hazard exists.
• To prevent carbon monoxide poisoning, do not run any gasoline-powered generators in a garage or other enclosed space.
