Apply for Payment Assistance Now

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities has declared this week “Utility Assistance Week.” Customers who are behind on their energy bills are encouraged to apply for payment assistance. More customers, including those who are behind on their bill for the first time, can now get the help they need.


Deadline Approaching for LIHEAP

There is still time to apply for payment assistance through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). LIHEAP emergency assistance is available until June 30, 2022. To find a local agency where you can submit your application, visit pseg.com/help or call 1-800-510-3102. You can also apply online at energyassistance.nj.gov.


American Rescue Plan

Financial assistance is also available through the American Rescue Plan (ARP) to help pay past-due electric and gas bills, even if you already receive other assistance. It is easy to apply and you may be eligible for a grant to pay an outstanding bill of up to $8,000 for gas and $5,000 for electric. Act now – ARP assistance is only available for a limited time. To apply, call the New Jersey Energy Assistance hotline at 1-844-930-1778, or visit pseg.com/energyassistance.


Other Payment Assistance Options

There are many payment assistance programs available to help customers pay their energy bill. Income-eligibility limits have more than doubled to include more customers at higher income levels. For information about all payment assistance programs, visit pseg.com/helpnow.


Customers who have applied for any payment assistance program by June 15 will be protected from service disconnection while their application is being processed. If you have applied by June 15, please contact PSE&G to let us know. Call us at 1-800-357-2262, or e-mail us at vouchers@pseg.com and include your name, account number, how you applied (online, on the phone, or in person), and either the confirmation number or the agency name.

 

PSE&G also offers flexible payment arrangements. To make a payment arrangement, visit pseg.com/MyAccount or call 800-357-2262. When asked, “What would you like help with today?” just say “payment arrangement.”
